Privacy policy

Tractor Playground is made for young children, and it collects no information about anyone: not your child, and not you.

Effective October 2026. This policy covers the Tractor Playground app for iPad and iPhone, and this website.

The short version

  • The app collects no personal information, and no data of any kind.
  • It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party code and no links out of the app.
  • A few small settings stay on your device. We never see them.
  • The one in-app purchase is handled by Apple. We never see your payment details or who you are.

Who we are

Tractor Playground is made by SmallTownMisfit LLC ("we" and "us" below). You can reach us at [email protected].

What the app collects

Nothing. Tractor Playground doesn't collect, keep or share any personal information, from children or from anyone else. There's no sign-up and no account, and the app never asks for a name, an email address, a birthday or a photo.

It shows no ads, uses no analytics, and doesn't track anyone across apps or websites. It contains no third-party software development kits (SDKs), so no other company gets information through it either. On the App Store, the app's privacy details say "Data Not Collected".

What stays on your device

So the app works the way you left it, it remembers three small settings in its own storage on the device (iOS calls this storage UserDefaults):

These settings stay on the device. They're never sent to us or to anyone else, we can't see them, and they're deleted when you delete the app. Like the rest of your device's data, they may be included in backups you make, such as iCloud Backup, which you and Apple control.

iOS also keeps its own record of whether the Adventure Pack has been bought, so the pack works offline. That record is kept by Apple's purchase system (StoreKit), and we don't hold it.

In-app purchases

The app is free. Its one optional in-app purchase, the Adventure Pack, is sold by Apple through the App Store, and Apple handles the payment. We never receive your name, your Apple Account details or your payment information. A purchase can be shared through Apple's Family Sharing, and with Ask to Buy, the family organizer approves it first. Apple's handling of this information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple gives app developers sales reports, such as how many packs were sold in each country. These reports don't tell us who bought one.

Crash reports and statistics from Apple

If you've chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports and app statistics for Tractor Playground. Apple prepares these, and they don't identify you or your child. You can turn sharing off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

The submarine's camera

The submarine has a pretend camera. Its "pictures" are pictures of the app's own underwater scene; the app never uses the device's real camera. The last seven pictures are held in memory only while you're in the submarine, and they disappear when you leave it. They're never saved to the device or to Photos, and never sent anywhere.

Permissions

The app asks for no permissions: no camera, microphone, photos, location or contacts. The microphones and radios on the dashboards are pretend.

The 3D tilt uses the device's motion sensor (the gyroscope) to shift the view outside the windshield as the device turns. iOS doesn't ask for permission to do this, and the motion readings are only used in the moment: they're never stored or sent. A grown-up can switch 3D tilt off on the Grown-ups page.

Internet connection

No internet connection is needed to play. The app only goes online through Apple's StoreKit, to show the Adventure Pack's price and to buy, restore or check the purchase. That traffic goes only to Apple.

The parental gate

The Adventure Pack, Restore Purchases and the settings are on the Grown-ups page. Getting there takes a press and hold of the Grown-ups button and the answer to a multiplication question written in words, so young children don't wander in. The app has no links out of it, so there's nothing else to guard.

Children's privacy

Tractor Playground is made for children, and it's built so that no personal information is collected from anyone. Laws such as the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union and the United Kingdom give parents rights over their children's personal data, including the right to review it and have it deleted. Because we don't collect or hold any personal data about you or your child, there's nothing for us to review or delete. You're always welcome to contact us with questions.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising, and loads nothing from other companies: no outside scripts, fonts or embedded content. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which handles the technical details of each visit (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect the site, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We don't keep logs of visits; Cloudflare shows us only overall traffic counts.

If you email us, we'll use your email address and your message only to reply to you, and we won't share them. Email to our support address passes through Cloudflare, which forwards it to the inbox we read.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a future version of the app ever needed to collect any information, we would update this policy and the app's App Store privacy details before releasing that version.
